Portrait of a people
As part of a long-term redevelopment strategy, Storyline reimagined the visitor flow within the Museum. The result was a dramatic new space (that will ultimately connect to a new building). This space now organizes the existing visitor experience and creates a generous destination for temporary features.
The first exhibition opportunity was a partnership with the Chinook Nation.
Working closely with Chinook tribal members and photographer, Amiran White, Storyline designed a photographic exhibition that portrays the cultural life of the Chinook Nation on whose traditional territory the Maritime Museum is located. 24 still images and a short video documentary tied together with an undulating cedar band introduce the Indigenous people who lived on the Columbia River for millennia.
